Dear readers!

This next issue of Infofocus bulletin is very much different from the previous ones. Life’s going forth, and so the format of the previous years doesn’t anymore depict the entire palette of economic and political events that happen in Belarus over a month. This has become especially obvious in January of 2007 when following oil and gas war economic and political life of the country showed certain dynamism as well as the noted Belarusian stability showed the signs of a rift.
Starting from this one, every issue of Infofocus will be open with an introductory editorial article in which we will present our assessments of major events in Belarus and give our forecast for the near future. Next, we will outline key events of the month in chronological order and give their detailed analysis based on the materials of Belarusian and foreign mass media. As before, we will go after presentation of various and sometimes mutually exclusive opinions.
